Learn to make Sooji Upma recipe- Upma is a very popular breakfast in South India and Maharashtra. It is a thick, porridge-like breakfast dish that is made from semolina, vermicelli or pearl sago.
Serve it for breakfast, brunch, or as a snack and is so wholesome you can even make a full meal of it.
Different vegetables and beans can be added to it, and some types will include cashews and peanuts.
Serve hot with lemon juice, pesarattu, Karivepaku Karampodi recipe, Peanut Red chili Chutney Recipe/ Palli chutney.
STEP BY STEP SEMOLINA/ RAVA/ SOOJI UPMA RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS WITH PHOTOS:
- Heat oil in a pan and Add mustard seeds, urad dal and chana dal. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
2. Add chopped onions, green chilis, Chopped ginger, curry leaves and cook for 3-4 minutes.
3. Add salt, water and let it boil for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add rava to the pan slowly while stirring and mixing it continuously. Cook till its thick for 5 minutes.
5. Serve hot with squeezed lemon juice, Karivepaku Karampodi recipe, Peanut Red chili Chutney Recipe/ Palli chutney or with Pesarattu.

Notes
- There are many variations of upma but this one is made with Sooji/ Rava/ Semolina.
- You can add fried cashews or peanuts to the recipe.
